1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Hijri Calendar ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
This app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use the following data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads:
- Advertising ID (GAID): Your device's resettable advertising identifier
- IP address: Used to determine approximate location for ad targeting
- Device information: Device model, OS version, screen size
- App interaction data: How you interact with ads shown in the app
- Approximate location: Derived from IP address, not GPS
This data is collected and processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. We do not have direct access to this data.
2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect
Outside of advertising, we do not collect:
- Your name, email, or contact information
- Precise GPS location
- Browsing history outside this app
- Any data that identifies you personally beyond what AdMob collects
3. Permissions We Request and Why
3.1 Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
- What it does: Sends a daily reminder showing today's Hijri and Gregorian date with an Islamic reminder.
- Data involved: None sent to our servers. Content generated entirely on-device.
- How to disable: Settings screen → Toggle off, or via device system settings.
3.2 Storage / Media (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES)
- What it does: Saves generated date card images to your gallery under
Pictures/HijriCalendar. - Data involved: Only the image you explicitly save is written locally. Nothing is uploaded.
- How to disable: Deny the permission; all other features continue working normally.
3.3 Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
- What it does: Reschedules the daily notification after device restart.
- Data involved: None.
3.4 Schedule Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM)
- What it does: Schedules the daily notification at a precise time (8:00 AM).
- Data involved: None.
3.5 Internet Access (INTERNET)
- What it does: Required by Google AdMob to load and display advertisements.
- Data involved: AdMob uses this connection to serve ads and collect advertising metrics per Google's privacy policy.
4. Google AdMob and Advertising
4.1 How AdMob Works
We use Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC) to monetize the app through advertisements. AdMob serves ads based on:
- Your advertising ID
- Your approximate location (from IP)
- Your device characteristics
- Your past app usage and interests (for personalized ads)
4.2 Advertising ID
Your device has a resettable Advertising ID (GAID). AdMob uses this to:
- Show you relevant ads
- Prevent the same ad from being shown too many times
- Measure ad performance
You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time:
- Android 12 and below: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset Advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization
- Android 13+: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete Advertising ID
4.3 Personalized vs Non-Personalized Ads
- Personalized ads use your interests and behavior to show relevant ads
- Non-personalized ads are shown based only on context (app content, language, location)
Users in regions covered by GDPR (Europe) or CCPA (California) may be shown a consent dialog before personalized ads are served.
4.4 Google's Privacy Policy

4.5 AdMob Data Retention

5. Local Data Storage (On-Device Only)
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted to us:

7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. The only data sharing that occurs is between AdMob and Google's advertising network, governed entirely by Google's policies.
8. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the data collected about you (contact Google for AdMob data)
- Delete your advertising ID (see section 4.2 above)
- Opt out of personalized advertising (see section 4.2 above)
- GDPR rights (EU users): Access, rectification, erasure, portability — contact Google directly for AdMob data
9. Children's Privacy
This app is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. AdMob is configured to serve non-personalized, family-safe ads in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google's Families Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy
We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be noted in the app update description on Google Play.
